Just downloaded the app! 
Obviously I haven't been on here in a while since the last thing I read about it was they were just starting beta testing.
So I may be on more since that's part of my phone now and like a true addict my phone goes everywhere with me.
Oh! for anyone who loves adorable games and Disney, you totally have to try the game [for smartphones] Tsum Tsum! You have to download this thing called LINE (which is like a free texting messenger thingy [sorta reminds me of Skype] but there are other games on there that are fun (and free).
I totally feel like an advertisement now so I'm gonna stop.
The Tsums are also plushies you can get in real life too! ^^ ...Now I'm really done.

End of August

So August is concluding. I'm not sure why this is leaving me with a mildly depressed attitude. Possibly because my birthday Sunday, Aug. 24th) was even more underwhelming this year than it normally is.
I don't think this would usually bother me as much, but after my friends set up to have surprise birthday dinners for two of my other friends this year, I feel sorta ignored for getting nothing but empty 'Happy Birthday' wishes on Facebook.
On top of that, two days later my boss told me he has to temporarily let me go because there isn't enough work for him to be able to afford to pay me to be there.
I'm using the extra free time to try and get a drawing for an art trade done and other stuff I've had ideas for and a few things I need to sew - one a gift for my friend's wedding.
So, yeah...
I don't think this would usually bother me as much, but after my friends set up to have surprise birthday dinners for two of my other friends this year, I feel sorta ignored for getting nothing but empty 'Happy Birthday' wishes on Facebook.

Digital Art vs. Traditional Art

Now, I've always been a traditional artist. I've tried to delve into the world of digital media but I struggle with the disassociation between my tablet and the computer screen, frustrated with the fact that I can't rotate my "sketchpad" to get a better drawing angle and various other things.
On the other hand, drawing traditionally can be extremely expensive (especially if you want to better work and buy high quality supplies/materials) and take up more space. (I have a whole cupboard of art supplies, half of which I may not use frequently.)
I do want to do digital art. I'm saving up to buy a Cintiq tablet so I can draw without struggling with the separation between where my pen (or in the tablet's case, the stylus) touches the page/screen, and also separate my sketchy preliminary layer from my final layer for a cleaner drawing and work with different mediums that I can't with traditional art. (i.e. I will not spend hundreds of dollars to buy airbrush materials.)
But recently I've found a few more artists that do their art traditionally and I'm absolutely impressed with their work! This doesn't deter me from wanting to work on a digital interface, but I do still find value with working with a media that could be classified as "more difficult" because of the lack of the UNDO key or a perfectly clean eraser.
This doesn't mean I have a lack of respect for digital artists. (And I also understand that not everything I see here is done on drawing tablets. Kudos to those who can manage to work with the pen tablets like the one I have and struggle with!
) I absolutely love the digital art I find here on dA and respect the artists and their effort put into their digital art just as much as I respect those who work traditionally.
Anyone have some input?
